Who all would be interested in a Part-5 license that would cover the
territory of the different LF operators scattered around the US? What
frequency band would you like? ERP? Antenna height limit? Power output? I
suggest greater than 1w ERP, how much? Modes of transmitting? Any other
ideas or forget this idea?
I will pay the 50 bucks for the license if we can get this together. The
license duration would be renewable and would be asked for a 5 year
duration. I know I can get a more localized license granted but would like
to know if you think a more nationwide license could be granted. The SHMRG
group is scattered all over the US and has a 6kc wide allocation centered at
166.5kc with 400w output. I suppose a 135-137kc allocation would be the most
wanted or something down there. The license members can ONLY communicate
with each other, NOT to anyone else.
Since we are not going to get a 136kc Amateur band in the near future, we
may as well go Part-5 as the FCC suggested when they shot us down for the
136 Amateur band. It is only available to licensed Amateur Radio operators.
Is there another band of frequencies of interest instead of 136kc?
Please give me some feedback. I dont want to run a high powered beacon all
by myself. I would like to do two way communications in voice and digital
modes.
Thanks,
Mike Reid
