I am reading the ARRL Antenna Book Version 1.0 right now and it states that
you can increase the efficiency of a small transmitting loop by creating a
ground screen under the loop. It states to increase pipe size or add radials
under it to increase efficiency. The effect of radials is to double the
antenna area because of the loop image. The length of the radials need only
be twice the loop diameter. It says the effect of the radials is greater for
loops with a smaller circumference, for a given frequency.
I have several 135 radials under my loop now but they terminate to several
ground stakes in the center of the yard for the vertical. Would it help to
run a heavy ground wire from the final amp ground to the radial system???
Bill, have you tried chicken wire or many radials under your loops???
