45-degrees netted me a 1304 mile reception report on both the loop and the
vertical this winter on several occasions. It will work. Keep tweaking the
thing. Maybe try a 1/2" copper pipe lower run or whole pipe loop like "The
Loop Master" has.

I just looked at the maps - and I think you're near the 45 degree
point so should be something there. This directional characteristic is
a pain ! ! ! However, first full night here - and we will see after a week
or so of reports, etc.
