A number of years ago I had a friend with an Extra class license who
couldn't even teach his son to copy 5 wpm.  I came across an article on
learning the code which was published in QST (wish I could remember the
year, but I can't).  Anyhow, I made a copy and gave it to Jim (the
son).  It worked for him and within a year he was teaching the radio
club code class for Extra which meant batting along at at least 25 per
to allow a margin of safety.  If you have the QST's on CD I think it
could be found by searching from about 1950 and later.  Try it, you'll
like it and it really isn't that hard once you get going.
