I think that's what we are trying to prove, and I am glad to have
a license so I can provide the test signal.
Something really strange today -
Last night, just before the freezing rain and wet snow really got heavy,
I adjusted the loading coil outside. I noticed that the variometer coil was
at a different position.... but current peaked, so I left it.
Then this afternoon, just after noon, I noticed the final dc current was 12
Amps ! !normally 8 amps. This means that the antenna is mis-tuned.
Sure enough, I went outside ( at a run ) and re-tuned the variometer..
It now was sitting at the normal position ( about 45 degrees ), and went
back inside and all was fine - back to 8 amps.
This was the first time I have seen the tuning change very much - in the
past month. I think there was so much freezing drizzle on the antenna, and
the temperature was just at freezing - that things changed. I've got a
feeling that the tophat is just brushing the occasional branch, and they are
wet also... so I guess I've got some pruning to do.
How do you prune a branch up at 35 feet ? One big jump and cut fast !! ha !
Thanks a lot for keeping track of the signal.
