There was a time when I suspected a receiver problem if I couldn't hear
(literally) LowFERs like KRY, XJ, 9HDQ, OK, TEXAS, MAX, WI -- the list goes
on and on. Now those were BEACONS! Heck, if I hadn't said anything, it might
have been months before anyone even noticed that LEK was off the air :-)
