Hmmm...
....sorry about the OT thread, and this is my last remark, I promise.

But I've been shown The Light by one of you Extras, off list -- you know 
who you are :)

Those of you who have been around the amateur service for a long time 
already knew I was wrong, I suppose.  But I'm a newbie, and I'll learn :)

Perhaps there ARE better ways to see that only technically qualified 
people are licensed WITHOUT the code requirement.

Seems to be a big case of me getting upset about something I didn't 
understand fully.

Of course, some of you may disagree .. I'm sure this is a sore subject.  
But I promise not to mention it again on this reflector.

And I'm STILL going after my general ticket, and I REALLY want to meet 
some of you on HF soon.
