I use a HP 3586C selective level meter for 50hz to 32Mhz. It is very
sensitive and rock solid (no drift). They only cost about $350.00.

Well, I've used methods 2 and 3.  I have a very nice boat anchor receiver
but it "only" goes down to about 185 without mods.

I just wondered what you guys were doing -- sounds like I'm on the right
track.

Now if only they'll fire up one of those behemoths again.  As usual, a day
late ...
