I don't have experiences with the R75 nor the R8A, but I can recommend 
you the receiver I routinely
use for LF : the JRC NRD-525. It is quite stable (it comes with the TCXO 
factory-installed),
sensitive well below 100 kHz, and in general I am quite satisfied with it.
I saw it on ebay recently going for about 450 USD.
