There is a nice Windows-based great circle map generating program available
for download at
http://www.microbri.co.uk/gc-map.htm

Map scales and sizes are fully adjustable -- you can easily generate a
customized great-circle map centered on your exact location. And if you
click the mouse on any point in the map, it will display the distance and
bearing from your location to that point. Cool!
