LowFERS,
Was listening E-W from N IL for any activity around 300 last nite and
didn't see any early evening or late morn, ~7A. Will keep at it.
------------------------------------------------
Noticed a post on the LongWave site about a MedFER tx, but the url had
a problem for me. A search on the source, Wenzel Assoc., brought up a
site devoted to general electronic circuits for the hobbyist, including
some that may interest Low/Med-FERs. The MedFER tx is there along with
some LF rx stuff, an e-field pre-amp.
Nice about this collection of experimenter circuits is the necessary
narrative and in some cases ideas to further expand/mod the circuits. It
appears from the narratives I read that the circuits have been made and
tested. Nice, huh? ... ;-}
Lastly, the site's author likes to use tinned D-sided pcb for the
circuits and seems to have high skills w/ soldering, owing to the pics.
He tells of making isolation islands for pcb component attachment using
a nibbler tool. Here the "chips" are reattached at the desired location
w/ a bit of solder. New to me and I'll try it sometime. (I have used
larger "tab" material but in a buss configuration and usually w/ S-sided
pcb.)
