All you have to do is monitor the Vcc current since the efficiency of the
output stage is near 100%. Can't remember if your power supply is located
outside or not. If it's outside, you my have a couple of wires available
going back to the shack in which you can measure the drop across a 10 ohm
resistor. I think you will be amused at the changes in current. I'll have to
take a digital pix of my daily input current from the chart recorder, even
though it's not as variable as typical vertical. As soon as the sun comes
out in the morning there's a quick drop, probably the result of the melting
water in the top layer of snow, that becomes conductive. The current heads
back up when the sun is under a cloud.
