I've thought about doing this from time to time so as to re-validate the 
improved performance of the loop over the vertical at this location. Using 
the big loop as a reference signal would really show the difference. I still 
have the Litz loading coil and I don't believe it would take too long to 
install the top hat and other parts of the system. I'd have to be real 
careful to keep the antenna current constant and this used to vary with 
temperature up to 2.5x (8db) on a single cold night! The sap content in all 
the trees surrounding the antenna was the the only logical explanation for 
this much variation.

Just about the whole Lowfer community would be interested. I've been hoping 
someone with more open space for good vertical performance would take this 
on.
