While on the topic of top hats, I have had this thought. Going back to
OK's ant having a large and optimum top hat that used Cu screening to
increase its capacity brought this to mind (see recent LEK pics). What
about substituting galvo chicken wire? Why? Ha, Cu screen is not to be
found locally and such a fine mesh could be too "aerodynamic," esp. w/
show and icing. But how about cheep chicken fence wire? It would seem
better than plain perimeter wire rings about the radial poles, yet not
succumb to icing and hence wind loading.

If such was in order, how much of the outer circumference would be
reasonable w.r.t capacity produced?

Would the mesh size be a large factor (larger mesh should be lighter
[good], but less actual wire)?

All thoughts are welcome, be they from loopers and others.
