The stainless wire will have rather high resistance. I have some #30
stainless wire here that's about 1 ohm per foot at DC! However, the safety
wire is probably quite a bit larger, and the current in the top hat will be
so low that the wire loss may not be noticeable. The modeling software will
predict the wire losses, but I'd say put up the antenna and see what
happens. Otherwise the wind will die and the snow will be gone, and all hams
know that antennas won't work unless put up under the worst possible
conditions :-)
