[Lowfer] Horizontal loop test results

Lloyd, Larry, Dex, John, Mitch, and others:

Thanks for looking at these signals. The horizontal loop orientation 
resulted in at least a 20db reduction in signal strength from the vertical 
position. This appears to be the case for both surface and sky wave signals. 
If you haven't had the chance, look at Lloydss's set of captures. A good 
deal of the time there is no test loop signal at all, while the big loop 
signal is strong, but it does come through at times. Dex, I have yet to look 
at your captures. The net here is all jammed up and they don't seem to come 
through. Will check later.

It's possible that the reduction could have been even greater if the loop 
had been more precisely mounted and/or the location had been a good distance 
from the house or the other loop. I guess it could be said that the 
operation was a success but the signal died. :~)  Sorry Mike.

Any requests for other tests? Elevating the loop to 600ft? Burying and 
operating under the snow? Encircling the house with a 3/4" pipe (using 
existing plumbing for the lower section <G>)? Bob: I still have that 'tilt' 
idea in mind. BTW, using the big loop as a reference signal appears to work 
really well.
