I haven't bought this stuff yet, so if you see any glaring holes, please
don't hesitate to point them out:

When I first started looking at this I told myself I'd make do with
about a 20' antenna and use a larger loading coil. But, after many runs with
AWG-COIL I find that, if I'm doing this right, there is no substitute for
antenna length. Efficiency is always much higher with a longer antenna in
my runs.

So, here is the plan I've put together based on what I (think I) have
learned so far:

This weekend I'm going to (try to) raise a 40' pole:

   * made from schedule 80 pvc pipe in the 2" - 3" range.

   * guyed at two levels with weed eater line
	> I'll secure the guys aginst the pipe with hose clamps
	> Can I loop the bottom end around the anchor (via an insulator or
whatever) and _clamp the line back to itself using crosby clamps_ like are
used with wire rope? Or what?

   * tophat with 8' radials.
	> Going to try 6 gauge radials with 14 gauge halo -- the 8 gauge I
used for the medfer radials tends to bend under its own weight beyond
about 4 feet. Any better ideas?

What do you think?

Thanks,
Eric
