What I was about to post follows:

While looking at Bryce Ofstie's (BRO) Web site, I was again impressed
at it and the LF equipment he displays there. I first found the site
over a year ago and it was his 5-sided LF rx loop that I copied and am
using now. But this visit captured my attention for his "new" LF
vertical that I regularly see of FB on Argo.

I think that a mention of BRO's site is a must see for guys like Eric
and others getting started and wishing ideas of what good home brew LF
station is made of. Bryce's photos are so detailed one could take
detailed notes from them. His descriptions not only offer the parts
narrative but also the rational for doing so and sometimes the evolution
of his thought, a help for others fishing for ideas.

Eric last asked if a loading coil could be "under the roof" and work
well. Well Bryce shows a pic of his tuning coil inside a metal box.
This, obviously is not the full coil (outside the box) but the lower end
of it and the consistent signal at my N IL location shows it works fine.
So this seems to say one can split the coil requirements up, if that is
desired.

Further, that pic of the blue loading coil is simple as they get, IMO.
Nice construction technique too, with the inner separator to support the
pvc pipe rods (I count 12). Plus he gives the dimensions and resultant L
for those who'd like to fully copy it.

Don't have that URL here, but it was recently mentioned. Definitely
worth a look.
