[Lowfer] Orange Alert for UBL

Increased LowFER "chatter" this week indicates an elevated risk of Useless
Beacon Listings at this time.
Today alone, we uncovered yet another e-mail address in the Operator Contact
List that had changed its identity without informing proper authorities--er,
the keeper of the Web list, at least. Who knows how long it may have been
lurking underground, covertly thwarting users of the database from sending
reports to the beacon's operator?
You can protect yourself from UBLs by turning informant. Inform us of your
changes at [email protected]. With so much chatter on the reflector, it's
impossible to catch every little change on our own. And, it's hard to
remember from such fleeting messages to change the data in anywhere from two
to ALL NINE files that have to be kept up. Let us know, so we can let
everyone know!
Especially make us aware of e-mail addresses, any time those happen! And
also, particularly in coming weeks, let us know if you're leaving the air
for the season.
If for some reason you prefer NOT to be known to the broader LowFER
community outside the rather limited world of this reflector--??? Well, let
us know that too. We'll honor your wishes. But please, don't just leave us
spreading Useless Beacon Listings around the LowFER community. They are
clearly weapons of mass confusion.
Thanks.
