Some notes on the weekend's listening and prowling.

First off on Fri, at 6:45P, saw MP at 137 with a FB sig. Also saw it
again Sat at 6A. Listening ended about 10P.

Sat. I was up at 5:30A and note a good display from LEK. Also find RB,
this time in dog bones. Later I noticed RB turned off at about 8:10A
(published turn on is 12A). Looked for WE, BOB, BA, YK, and D, all NL.
At 8A see BRO w/ good sig.

Sat afternoon had me re-connecting the vertical w/ bottom and mid coils
and top hat (rx only). Done at 3P, I came in to see LEK and also a trace
of WE. Later, at 4:20P only LEK and some noise bars, but LEK was dog
bones on the vert. Bro also good copy. Looked for the remainder on my
hit list (mentioned) but NL.

Sunday morning I'm up at 2A and come to find the Argo screen aglow. It
was LEK vs. V strong NC. At 2:30A I'm watching RB march across the
screen in 10 sec mode, but now RB (50 miles west) is audible. By 7:30A
nothing found at the 300 glory hole.

Sunday, PM did some rewiring at the rx site and moved stuff around. At
6:30P started looking. See but a trace of LEK. Hmm, doesn't seem right.
Did I screw up on a connector? Dunno and will try again tonight.

Notes: This is first I have used a vert. w/ Argo. Based on only visual
observations of one day, it shows a good signal level along w/ local
noise too. At least w/ the smaller loops one can rotate some noise away.
The top hat is strung between a 50 foot tower at 40 foot level on a now
jammed pulley, and a 30 foot pole at the garage 70 feet from tower. A
center coil of 110 turns, 8 inches dia. is up 15 feet on a pole centered
under the Tee. The lower coil makes up the remainder L w/ taps. A radial
system of misc. insulated "pull-out wire" from commercial building
renovations is on the ground. These are joined into bus bars pulled from
an electrical dist box, the bars w/ all the set screw holes. Most wires
are grouped in 3s and 4s to a hole. It's good enuf and faster than a
solder job, for now. Though now that I have a new 200Wt iron I'd like to
plan a different radial system. Likely one w/ soldered bunches and
lug-bolted to a larger buss plate. But save that 'til summer.
