Reasons 23 and 24 why the loop is the TX antenna of choice at LF:

Just had to respond to all this loop bad-mouthing as of late! <GGGGGGG>

Actually I was kinda wondering if I could install a new loop in the back 
woods in less time than it took me to read though all the threads last night 
on pros and cons of various vertical antenna configurations.

Anyhow, good luck on the beacon installation. This is LF stuff has been 
great fun for me - especially this season.
