The station concerned is MB7LF which is a remote receiver. The station
was built in response to problems reported by 136KHz users who had
high levels of interference with data over BT cable, and other users
who had problems with TV timebase interference.
The station is specially licienced for the experiment. Technically
it is a data repeater run by the RSGB.
The incident that Steve took offence to was a one off accident by a well
respected amateur. There has never been any problem since on either
input or output frequency.
This comunity receiver project was sponsored by Yaesu as part of
an investigation into techniques that might be used in areas with high
levels of PLT interference. The station now comprises a single FT847
running in satelite mode with the main receiver IF directly coupled into
the satelite transmitter IF.
