[Lowfer] This makes no sense!

I've been looking at skywave signal captures from Bob, Larry, Steve, Roger
and Mike S (well somewhat skywave) and the ratio of signal strength between
the W and the m has no connection with any theory I can come up with.
Sometimes the 'W' can dominate but later on, at the same location, the 'm'
can dominate. The heading from here doesn't appear to effect the W/m ratio
in the sky wave. Bob has this weird routine where he sees Wm around 10:00pm
but no other eastern signal. Then at 2 to 4am Wm returns but with TAG and
VD!

Today I carefully measured the patterns at a 1.8 mile radius and they are
exactly as predicted. The nulls are running at least -26db .... probably
better if I really looked.

Lyle has some ideas including possible 'antenna effect' where the loop acts
as a E-field element as well as an H-field element. This might have a
different effect on the skywave compared to the surface wave (which I can
easily measure). I'll add grounds to the upper midpoints to eliminate this
possibility. With Steve's real-time setup I'll be able to flick these
grounds on and off and note the effect in the skywave.

Thanks for all the 'interesting' returns!

Bill
