Hello everyone!
WC2XSR/13 is still warming the aether (and the local earthworms!) with
400 watts on 166.500 KC to my "citytenna" on my small suburban lot.
Not too much has changed here, except that I now have a monitoring page
online (temporarily) so that I can see what's happening when I am at
work. If you're interested, you can check out the real time status of
the WC2XSR/13 transmitter and antenna system by going to my private web
server at:
http: // www dot w5jgv dot dyndns dot org
Please remove the spaces and change the "dot" to "." in your browser's
address bar.
I posted the URL this way so that the web spiders will not capture the
address and spread it all over the internet. It's my private web
server and I don't want a tremendous amount of traffic (Hams excepted,
of course!) but feel free to have a look whenever you like.
Click on the link about a third of the way down the page that says
"Click this link to view the Online Status Page for WC2XSR/13 in real
time." This will bring up a page with two pictures, the first shows
the webcam view of the antenna current meter and the transmitter master
oscillator frequency counter. The second picture is a screen capture
from the data logger which reads the transmitter PA drain current in
amperes. Both captures are auto-refreshed every 15 seconds. The active
ID method is shown at the top of the page.
I am still having a bit of a problem with the server programs here that
capture the camera and data logger frame. Occasionally they hang when
someone attempts to load the web page at the exact instant the server
programs try to update the capture files. This has only happened (so
far) when someone logs on using a dial-up connection. (Software is such
a pain!)
Oh yeah - one note. The webcam pic is in JPG format (~12kb), but the
screen capture is in PNG format ( ~80kb) because the stupid capture
program dies when attempting to save a JPG or GIF file. (Grrr!)
73,
Ralph W5JGV - WC2XSR/13
