I think I used the 20 sec mode and didn't see anything different than the 30 
sec mode; but the real problem was:

1) The signal I thought was Jay on my first try was right at 185.301 and 
this really messed up my thinking.

2) I had used this laptop a month earlier in the car and I don't remember an 
offset more than a Hz or so. This amount of offset would place Jay in my 
QRSS30 window.

3) The signal strength indicator was going wild so I connected this to the 
incorrectly diagnosed blurring problem.
