[Lowfer] Wateringhole in CT + SDR & Beacons

Hi Bob,

My home is in Saint Paul, Minnesota.=20

Currently I am listening with an RX-320 and a long wire antenna.

Say, maybe I can get a little advice here. I am quite interested in the
discussion regarding software defined radio (here and elsewhere), and am
thinking that I will buy the FlexRadio Systems SDR-1000 in a few months.
I'll be setting up a Part 15 beacon at my farm in Shell Lake, MN. My =
working
plan is to build it to K0LR's breadboard design, and now having read =
here
about the Freakin' Beacon my plans are shaping up well.=20

This group has really been helpful. A couple of weeks ago I told my wife
about my developing interests in radio and showed her a Jason =
screenshot.
Then I told her about how cool a beacon at the farm would be, and how I =
hope
to get it transmitting some kind of telemetry eventually. Then she gave =
me
one of Those Looks and said, "Where _are_ you from?" Apparently, there =
are
others who share my peculiar interests....
