Well, DOS is not applicable to the Basic Stamps, but the programming
language is BASIC, similar to what one would find on an ancient DOS-based
computer. They are pretty easy to program. However, they're not nearly as
versatile as a PIC microcontroller. As for Kurt's question.
>>Anyone using basic stamps for CW controllers? I did a search on the web
>>and found mountains of BS --
Goes with the territory. :-)
>> -- but nothing that really shows how to program a stamp
>>to act as a keyer. Any ideas? I have the BSII and am
>>thinking of using this for my beacon to help get things going.
If you have a collection of old Nuts & Volts magazines, you may find exactly
what you're looking for. On the Web, though, try this: Put the following
two phrases, in quotation marks exactly as shown here, in the Google search
box:
"Basic Stamp" "CW keyer"
This narrows the search considerably, and may give you a starting point.
