Nice coil! ..........Has "9k loading coil" written all over it!    Like the 
200C HP generator too!  Now that was a Signal Generator. I actually bought a 
junker one time for a couple of bucks that was physically a wreck, just for 
the VC. It about killed me to take the gen apart piece by piece to get to 
it. That variable capacitor is a work of art!

What did you come up with for the Q??  BTW, my bench top would have a 
degrading effect on the Q of that measurement without about an inch of 
spacing. Not sure why... and I'm not talking about the 1"  layer of 
scattered components laying on the top :)
