Thanks fellows, Mark, Lyle, Art,

Made some progress w/ IffanView ver 3.80 (current) on a test Win95 pc.
I executed the download .exe there and it stopped, wanted a named DLL
and then another. I foung these DLLs on this Win2000 pc and imported
them to the Win95 pc. IrFanView installed. I opened a .jpg and it came
up. But when I tried to add the text it would not attach it and left the
image unchanged. Hmm?

Oh well, some progress. I know what I need to dig forand I'll pursue
that for a bit.

For others attempting this (&$#@!) the DLLs lacking in Win95 are
MFC42.dll and MSVCRT.dll. Win 98 should have them.
