All,
I hadn't been to Ralph's site since he was wildly posting about his
antenna arching last fall, I believe. And before that it was the
"10-gallon coil building," all super adventurous tales to enthrall a
LowFER--or wannabee. Well, seeing John's terse and somewhat ambiguous
reply to Dale, lead me back to Ralph's well made and loaded site. New
for me now was seeing his article on the setup required for Argo DSP
program.
For the newbie or lurker reading this and still interested, Argo is the
pc software that produces a graphic indication on a monitor of what a
connected receiver is picking up, although usually not an audible signal
for the user to hear due to it being so weak. (It can be found as
freeware on the Web.) So this way we can at least see the presence of
the signal on the screen as it slowly scrolls by. Imm, great fun BTW.
;-}
Ralph also adds a description of setting up his SLM, a HP 3586, for use
with Argo. A nice article about Argo that I haven't seen elsewhere and
can be ref'd. as a how-to piece for new guys this coming season.
Good work down there, Ralph, and thanks.
Peter
