That's right Don.... They were building the DEW line when I was up there.
The Weather stations were joint USWeather Bureau and Cdn Government sites,
with 4 US guys and 4 Cdn guys on a site for one full year. We got supplies
delivered twice a year - Spring and Fall. Other than that, the only
communications was via
our commercial CW circuits - or ham radio. I was VE8WN at the time.

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't work you at one time, since the guys
all enjoyed and appreciated the 'phone patches - and there were certain
regulars like yourself who always pointed your antenna North.
I was signed up to go the South Pole and work there, but had an accident
with 4000 volts and got flown out for repairs ! These little things change
your plans - hi !
