I didn't know. All I ever monitor is CW on 40m and W1AW as I'm trying to
prepare for the test.
Phone doesn't do anything for me, and probably never will. As a result
there is very little for me to do with my tech ticket. THAT's why I'm
working so hard to get ready.
Funny thing ... I want to build a 2m repeater! But only because I dig
building radio equipment. I think 2m sucks and will never radiate a
single word of my own there. Of course, if I find someone around here
with an EME station I might try to bounce some 2m CW -- but that doesn't
count!
So you old FARTs can take heart in knowing there ARE some young folks (I
didn't THINK I was young, but in the face of the ages you guys are saying
you are -- sheesh :) out here who still are into this for the fascination
of radio itself, and not simply 'cause they want to hear their own voice.
Seriously, some of the guys I HAVE heard on HF seem to take real joy in
seeing how long the can keep the mike keyed.
