idea is a good one!

The gear motors arrived today and it looks like the rubber tube 
coupling/clutch will work nicely. The tubing also makes an effective 
coupling able to handle the change in the shaft length of the trimmer cap. I 
added a small adjustable hose clamp on the motor end and this makes the slip 
resistance a variable.

The gear motors appear to be of high quality and work to expectations on the 
bench with a variable power supply. The first loop tuning box is only 2" X 
4" x 1" with an F connector and two banana connectors for connection to the 
loop. The voltage for the motor will be fed on the RG-59 lead-in. I plan to 
use two double-pole push-buttons in a box at the receiver that will 
disconnect the receiver from the lead-in and apply either a plus or a minus 
voltage to the motor (connected in series with the secondary of the loop 
coupling tranformer).
