Out in the western part of the state -- well, that's not quite desert 
either.  But they are more arid, with few trees and more tallgrass 
prarie.

Around here, in the northeastern part of the state, where I live, we get 
over 42" of rain annually, on average.  This part of the state is 
actually called Green Country.  Not what most people probably think of 
when they think of Oklahoma's climate.
