Har,
>Here is one for much debate but I am curious. Given:
>the FCC allows us 100 Watts of power or 1 watt EIRP What will a loop >of
>(?) square foot size be able to produce ??
I can extend my 50ft width to almost 500 ft and gain almost 10X in area. I
was planning to use #8 ga wire on the upper portion (possibly RG-8) and a 4x
#12 ladder conductor on the lower portion. This comes close to 1w ERP when
the current and Rr are calculated. The resonant capacitor voltage comes to
less than 1000v so there's nothing exotic required to build this.
>I may be able to get up close to 200/ 250 Ft of copper in the air
>and should radiate a fair signal.
You ain't kidding! When your thoughts go 'hog wild' don't forget that the
efficiency of a loop in terms of radiated power per square foot of area
actually drops off as the size exceeds about 1/20 WL on a side. 1/20 WL
=~350ft at 136k.
