You're right. I musta been looped when I said that!

Having some fun with this loop, comparing the signal to the signal from the
tree antenna. I have an A/B switch to allow quick changes back and forth.
Luckily the average signal strength is about the same on both antennas. So
far, without a remote tuning cap, I'm forced to use only one frequency at a
time and, at the moment, it's NDB DIW, which is fairly weak tonight.

Earlier this evening the loop was swamped by a neighborhood light dimmer but
this was turned off at 11:10pm. As I mentioned quite a while back I have
buried wires and a copper pipe leading to the garden near the loop and the
noise currents in these conductors play havoc with the loop - not so for the
tree antenna. After 11:10pm the dimmer noise was totally gone and the only
noise was distance lightening static. At times, I could switch antennas
without hearing the slightest difference on DIW, but at other times the tree
antenna was clearly the better receptor in terms of strength and S/N. Will
continue these tests over the next week.

Bill
