My town, Glenpool, is a very oil-rich area. Just north of town is a huge
tank farm. Here oil and oil products are stored.
Last week, as one of the tanks was receiving diesel from a pipeline, the
tank burst into flames. That tank had received about 8,400 barrels of
diesel when this happened. The tank would hold about 50,000 barrels.
The fire raged all night.
At about 6am the storm sirens were activated ... about half of the town
was forced to evacuate. The evacuation limits were within a block and a
half of my house.
This fire burned for two days and nights.
Here you can see pictures of this event. The first picture is from two
miles away. The second picture is from my back yard ... you can see my
MedFER antenna on the top of my little building.
The last two pictures are of the tank after the fire was out. You can see
the scorch marks on the tanks near it ... one of which contained 50,000
barrels of naptha:

I thought I was going to have to take UWL and run for it. But all is well
now.
