Well I found the same here in DeKalb ("Corntown") IL, an independent HW
store of some sort. Hadn't been in it since summer and got used to the
out-of-town home stores (2). Well I found they remodeled the place and
expanded it -- has a whole wall of those open plastic boxes of
everything: stainless (SAE, MM), brass, plastic. Even found that old
plastic covered Al clothesline (Eric?) and cheep at $4 for 50 feet.

Another big surprise was open MM stock in the 1-2mm range. I've been
looking all over for them. Was dragging throw out vcrs home just for
the mm screws. Just watch the points I make w/ the wife as I renounce
vcr junking out of my concerns for her sensitivity of gutting them on
the kit. table. A big plus day all around.

One last Q. How to attach the wire to, say a flat plate with a no. 6
screw w/o bending the wire to make a twisted loop? The wire is the
large clothesline type. Ideally a hairpin end shape would work but that
small of bend bay be impossible. Ideas?

Thanks Lyle, Eric, Peter
