Well I would probably have to install a Lowfer station 50 miles SW of here
since I would be using both of my antennas for 136 operations. I don't know
what the effect of a Lowfer final amp would be with 100w radiating from an
antenna 30' away from the Lowfer antenna. If it doesn't cause any weird
troubles, then I could run the Lowfer beacon while running 136. But the big
problem would be either using a lossy vertical in the summer for the beacon
which it wouldn't get heard anywhere and using the loop on 136kc or running
the beacon on the loop which works in warm or cold weather and taking the
hit on loss with the vertical on 136kc. In the winter it wouldn't matter as
the vertical works just as well as the loop when all is frozen around here.

Re: Crystal Bal- Looking Time On The Future Of 1750 Activity
I'd like to ask a simple question: What's going to become of the
present QRSS crowd on 1750 when and if the U.S. band plan commences for
137, i.e., are they going to leave and abandon 1750?
The telamons of 1750 carry a lot of influence in operating and
technical expertise among present-day LowFERS. A few, Lyle and Bill,
seem itching to try out the proposed new band. Fine all around. But
still, will they still have a presence here among the peanut whistlers?
Maybe they haven't thought about it -- or don't know -- but I'm sure I
and others would like some notion on which side the pot will boil over.
Just a thought on a slow and dreary Friday lunch-time and some musing.
Cheers,
Peter
