[Lowfer] QRSS Alternative

Hey Steve,

Good question.. There still needs to be a space between letters so that is
equal between the 2 modes.
The difference comes in the form of the lack of space between elements.
There are not set standards that I could see but if there is no space
between say 2 dots or dashes they run together and become difficult to read.
The spacing I have seen between elements has varied from 1/3 to 1/2 of an
element.

See the attached document with W1VLF there are 26 elements. that would be
about 20 inter element spaces. At 1/2 an element that would add 10 element
lengths or 10 minutes to my call at QRSS 60 twice that at QRSS 120 etc.

Did you see the capture Jay put up for me? ARGO overlaps the elements at
the diff freqs. Imagine the 1 in my call with 4 dashes in a row.
Then imagine the band fading and some of the element/s missing.

Yes it takes up more BW but if you ever se even part of a element in that
185.298.8 slot you know it was a spce between letters

W1VLF

Paul....how do your calculated times compare with a straight DFCW "W1VLF"
?
What disadvantages do you envision with straight DFCW?
