[Lowfer] Ground Screen ?

I would just try to solder it. Galvanized wire does solder with rosin core
solder and a good iron. Wrap a few turns at the connection points with tiny
bare copper wire and have at it with the solder iron. You could use
water-soluble liquid flux to get it to take a tin real easy; then you just
hose it off later, no scrubbing necessary. I would think that just running
thick radials with the stuff would be fine, but it definitely wouldn't hurt
to cover the whole yard with it for several hundred feet distance from the
feedpoint if you have the room and time to do it. The grass will grow
through it next spring and you won't have to remove it in the spring. Heck,
if your really crazy enough, hit it with some good spray paint after you
have it all soldered together and it should help it last a few more years.
Green would be best so your yard doesn't look a bit funny!!! Use heavy wire
bent into a U shape to spike it down on the ground until the grass grabs
hold of it next spring.

Subject: [Lowfer] Ground Screen ?
LowFERs,
Re: Using Chicken Wire As Additional Ground Plane For LF
The place where I work is unloading some bundled chicken wire. [No, I'm
not into chicken raising.] Not missing a thought for a cheep temporary
ground system [It's fall, done mowing.], I'm thinking of showing it the
way home.
But how is a good connection made to that stuff? It's galvo'd no. 18
and all strands are held together by twisting. That doesn't seem a good
ground path. Any ideas?
One thought is to solder some house wire across a few of the lengthwise
wires. But then maybe the rest of the wire will create noise due its
"just touching" contact arrangement. I'm not sure.
