All,
WA is back up to 1W after replacing the Litz cable with the RG-8 cable.
Didn't get the opportunity today to find out what the problem was but will
do this tomorrow. The DC resistance on all 4 individual cables measured much
higher than it should have been. No abrasion was found.
Made an interesting discovery in the requirements for the stepdown
transformer design. I ran across a tiny .5" OD core made from #77 ferrite
and tried it in my bench final and loop simulator. Used the same number of
turns as with my larger #77 cores and found there was no loss in efficiency
when comparing input power to output power into the loop (>95%). This makes
it possible to construct a final including stepdown transformer about the
size of a large postage stamp.
