With that S/N ratio, you should be able to copy me on A3 phone! If the
rig was set up for that, which it isn't - yet.

WC2XSR/13 has been on the air 24 / 7 for the past month or so, but only
four reception reports to date. I am still on 166.500, QRSS30, signing
XSR and a 10 WPM CW ID. Power is 400 watts to the antenna, about 3
watts ERP.

Sometime - probably next week, I will shut down for a few days while I
complete restoration of the guy system on the rooftoop tower. After 18
years, the guys have returned to their original state of iron oxide.
I've already replaced the lowest set of guy lines, but I have to unload
the mast by taking the antennas down to be able to replace the upper
sets of guys without having the mast collapse.

While I am at it, I may add an additional 10 feet to the height of the
mast. That will allow me to raise the end of the horizontal loading
wire on the 166.5 antenna. That should give me a slight increase in
ERP, but mostly it will allow me to get my 160-10 meter dipole antenna
back up where it is supposed to be once again. It will also increase
the spacing between the dipole and the 166.5 antenna, and that should
help things as well.

I'll post the transmitter shutdown information on my station log web
page when I shut it down for the repairs. You can always check there
for the current status of WC2XSR / 13 which is located at
http://home.att.net/~shmrg/wc2xsr-13_log.htm .
