I noticed a few minutes ago when walking around the yard to null out the
60hz buzz, that I kicked a woodchip and I swear that I heard it on the
radio. That is interesting that the bugs emit a VLF signal; I thought that
was what I heard before but wasn't sure. What were you walking on when you
heard your footsteps??? What kind of shoes were you wearing then???

Yes, Bugs make one heck of a racket, I had a hard time figuring it out when
I first heard them, it was little knats I could hardly see, sounded like a
chain saw.  Some plants and weeds make hissing/popping noises when there is
a very light breeze.
