Hey Kurt,
I find mine useful for locating underground powerlines as well. I have
noticed the no antenna and rub it on the arm hair thing. I thought I heard
bugs buzzing before, but I'm not sure. I built the design that was in the
Lowdown a few issues ago and use it to drive a Rat Shack audio amp/speaker
and use phones when I am not near lightning. That stuff gets mighty loud!!!
I plan on driving out in the boonies one night or morning just to see what I
hear without any 60hz crap in there.
