Consider a spare fer your self as well
with the FET gate tied to the antenna
and even though it is a cast iron FET I still
worried about lightning. However it has been up
here for a summer with some pretty good storms
and apparently the neon bulb has done its job
as it still works OK,

found it to be a good antenna and plan to reinstall M loop ,fixed tuned
to 136 . Which should help keep noise out of the antenna coupled in
through the
tuning control leads

The company that make the FETs were very EZ to order from and were
surprised at the
requests for the device. I wonder how many there are out there.

the antenna is good use on HF as well and I have seen reports that for
160/80 meter it is a quiet antenna
compared to the transmitting antenna

Have Fun
