[Lowfer] WC2XSR/13 - Interesting antenna problem

This afternoon I made a small change to the lower end of the antenna for
WC2XSR/13. This change was designed to reduce some of the unwanted
environmental shunt capacity across the loading coil which caused a 3 dB
power drop every time it rained. Interestingly enough, the antenna
current did not change as the power dropped!

What happened and what did I do about it? Read all about it at
http://home.att.net/~shmrg/wc2xsr-13_log.htm . It's the first entry in
the log.

Oh yes, the field strength is up about 20% since I made the change, so
you might see an increase in the WC2XSR/13 signal.

Reception reports wanted!
