Mikes measurements:
>The current antenna current is .745A
>The tuning capacitance is 6410 pf
>The loop measures .165 mH

Sorry that I didn't pick up on this before but if the loop inductance 
increased from .112 mH to .165 mh when you changed from N/S to E/W, without 
lengthening the wire, you are definitely being effected to large degree by 
the metal building. A good portion of your magnetic field is in the metal 
and not in space where it needs to be to form a electomagnetic wave. The 
field in the building could in fact cancel out most of the useable field 
since the phasing might just be in an opposing direction!!

Hope you can rotate back to the N/S orientation asap and aren't too dizzy 
from this musical loop-spinning! <G>

PS: Mike R: What about your metal fence? It didn't effect the loop current 
but what about the field pattern?
