Mike,
>PI's Ashlock loop is now generally orientated E-W. Exact bearing will be=
determined tomorrow when I get back from an overnight trip.
>The current antenna current is .745A The tuning capacitance is 6410 pf T=
he loop measures .165 mH
This is good Mike. Your loop Rac is approx (.724/.745)^2 x 1.3 =3D 1.22 o=
hms. This slightly better than my #12 loops run and I am elated because t=
his says there is nothing magical about MY antenna site!
>The test coil required 7720 pf to max out at .724A.
From this I calculate that you are running an input power of I^2 x R =3D =
.724^2 x 1.3 =3D .68W (assuming near 100% efficiency for the final)
You can therefore reduce the step-down ratio by taking off one turn from =
the primary of the transformer (IE: 7 to 6 turns) and this should increas=
e the power delivered by (7/6)^2 =3D 1.36X to .92W. Hey, this is textb=
ook electronics!

>Leaving now for a trip, back tomorrow evening.
But Mike.................... it's celebrating time!! <G>
Thanks for the data!! In fact you can be on the US LLET (Lowfer Loop Erec=
tion Team) any time, as long as you get that direction pointer fixed! <GG=
