I didn't read this post until after I sent my latest post. Do you think my
vertical would work worth a darn with it being within 10' of the 70' oak
tree trunk??? If you think it would radiate something useful, I will build
the coil/variometer right away.

There's an easier solution. We could wind a loading coil and get that
vertical you put up last winter on the air :-)
